Through our various suppliers, Advanced NDT Ltd is able to supply Automated Ultrasonic Testing Systems to suit any application. Below we have illustrated a selection of large systems for differing tasks. We will be pleased to discuss your particular application to identify the optimum solution. Large Gantry System for the inspection of Aircraft Wing Sections using squirter’s in a 'Through-Transmission' configuration with a tone-burst pulser & remote pre-amplifier. Large Gantry System with 25' x 8' Scanning Area The unit features synchronized Z - Y axis. For more complex geometries, more controllable axis are required culminating in full robotic control for complex contour following.
Inspection of .4" to 2.5" diameter tubes up to 50' in length. Testing required detection of OD and ID flaws in both the longitudinal and circumferential direction, as well as thickness measurements along the length of the tube. Rejected areas are automatically marked to identify defects. The tubes are rotated and fed through the test head at high speed. This style of system may also be used for on line dimensional and wall thickness measurement for production control.
The robotic system illustrated above is designed to inspect a section of the Delta rocket used for launching satellite systems. Key Points: 17 Axes Control using synchronized industrial robots. Maximum transducer deviation 0.020" over a 28ft lift and 20ft dia rotation. Complex curve following. Turntable rated at 40 Tons Simultaneous dual pulse echo and through transmission inspection. Three dimensional plotting of the defects into the CAD program
